1. Bhangarh Fort - Ghost of Tantrik

The Bhangarh Fort is located on the border of the Sariska Reserve in the Aravali range of hills in Alwar district of Rajasthan. Decently preserved, for the most part, Bhangarh’s ruins today include several impressive structures, including several temples, public chambers, and the royal palace. Entry into Bhangarh is prohibited between sunset and sunrise. It is ranked the most haunted fort in India. Archaelogical Survey of India therefore has prohibited people from visiting the Bhangarh Fort at night.However, spending full nights in the haunted fort premises is still an adventure people partake in almost too frequently.

Story behind Bhangarh Fort is that: The Tantrik Priest or evil saint who fell in love with a beautiful princess Ratnavati, who was the daughter of Chatr Singh. Tales of her beauty and delightful temperament spread far and wide and she received many marriage proposals. Tantrik attempted to use a love potion to win her affection. But knowing that he didn’t stand a chance with the beautiful princess, he tried to cast a spell on her. Seeing the princess’ maid buying perfume for her in the village, he cast a spell on it so that Ratnavati would fall in love with him. Ratnavati came to know of this and threw the bottle. However, the princess dodged his moves by flinging the potion onto a boulder, which then rolled down toward the magician, physically crushing him. Before taking his final breath, he cursed the fort, saying it would end up in a state in which no one could live.

Delhi Cantonment is one of the most haunted sites in Delhi. It is said that Delhi Cantonment is a shelter of a lady ghost, who was supposedly killed in a car accident. Delhi cantonment road really a terrifying place for those had seen a lady wearing awhite dress with her face blurry standing on the side of the road will ask for a lift. Many drivers on the night had gone through the nightmare with her memory. More than 100 of people have seen that lady of Delhi Cantt road, 10-12 of them have died. The lady ghost often appears and disappears in front of the eyes of victims, those who had her experience. They felt she often tried to make them nervous and horrified. Meerut is a metropolitan city situated in the state of Uttar Pradesh in India. Branches of trees blocking the view of three dilapidated buildings, a deathly silence. On a full moon night it could be an ideal setting for a horror flick. In Meerut’s GP Block, a compound with three spacious buildings in which nobody lives. In fact, nobody has cared, or perhaps dared, to stay here since the 1930s.

People have claimed to see the spirit of a woman sitting on the roof and others have added to see women wearing red clothes getting in and out of the house. It has been always seen that four men sitting inside the house around a table with a single candle lighted in the centre, and having alcohol. It happens to be most common sight for people passing through that area but few people also added that even they seen the men sitting on the rooftop. The scenes keep repeating all over the house. The two story building has been locked for many years, and people even can't remember who used to live here, and when. 4. Chandan Nagar – Pune

The locals here say that a small girl died while the construction of a house in the area and her spirit remained and makes an apparition every night after the clock strikes 12!.This little ghost just screams at you and does nothing else. They have seen a little girl that looks like she is hovering on the floor or rather bouncing. Victory theatre is still up and running because of this feature but what really makes this place unique is the fact that it is haunted. Not just the theatre, the building that houses it is believed to be haunted and employees and locals have experienced strange things here.Many cine-goers who have gone to watch a movie in this theatre have heard alarming screams and evil laughter while they were engrossed in the movie. 7. Mukesh Mills – Mumbai

Sanjay Van is a city forest area which is located in South Delhi near Vasant Kunj. It is a densely wooded forest and is home to plenty of birds, making it a haven for nature lovers. There are many haunted story's related to this place. First story is that someone lights candles in the night under trees and a saint walks along the illuminated path. Many say it is the spirit of 14th-century Sufi saint Hazrat Sheikh Shahabuddin Ashiqallah whose mausoleum lies in the backyard of the forest in the middle of many other graves. Second story as per local people their is that a ghost lady who swinged herself from the peepul tree. The ghost lady in white saree roams around those trees. Many have seen her scary eyes. Sometimes she rounds the tree and sometimes people encounters the vision how she hanged herself from the peepul tree. The myth of the lady ghost made Sanjay Van extremely haunted specially at night. Third story Some people believe spirits actually live in these mausoleums and graves. During the night, many have heard either a child's cry or clawing and scratching noises coming right from the grave!

9. Kuldhara - Rajasthan


Being a desert region, Rajasthan has no dearth of ghost villages but few of them have got as much attention as Bhangarh and Kuldhara, perhaps due to the legends associated with them. The Diwan set his eyes on the beautiful daughter of the village chief and he told the villagers if they came in his way he would levy huge taxes on them. Due to the wrath of the of Jaisalmer, the residents of the entire village fled one dark night, leaving behind their homes and everything within them. Kuldhara was abandoned by its very own people. No one saw the thousand-odd members of the village leave. For generations now, no one knows where the Paliwals have resettled. Kuldhara is a desolate place with a forlorn look and bring sadness to the heart when one thinks of those unfortunate people who were forced to leave the land of their forefathers. However, The houses are almost in the same condition as they were left behind by their inhabitants.

10. Khooni Darwaza - Delhi

Khooni Darwaza, located near Delhi Gate, on the Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg in Delhi. Delhi has been ruled by several kings and queens who were descendants of different cultures. Many of them left their mark on this city in one form or another.It is also believed some major murders took place near this Khooni Dharwaza. When Jehangir's succession to the throne was protested by one of the members of 'Naratna group,' Jahangir had two sons of Abdul Rahim Khan-I-Khana executed (early17th century) and left the body near the gate. Like wise the tyrannical Aurangazeb, son of Shah Jahan defeated his elder brother Dara Shikoh in the struggle for the throne and had his head displayed at the gate.Hundreds of refugees were murdered at this gate while they were going towards the refugee camp at Purana Qila during the partition in 1947. Blood-curdling screams and anguished cries can be heard around this historical monument, many a time and the sudden drop in temperature and apparitions through walls of this gate can give you chills to the bones.

11. Dow Hill in Kurseong – Darjeeling

About 30 kilometers from Darjeeling is located the most haunted hill station in India, Dow Hill of Kurseong. Kurseong is a hill station in West Bengal studded with picturesque landscapes, wooded mountains , lush green tea plantations and thick forests. Nicknamed as 'The land of orchids'. It has stories of murders and ghosts. According to local people ghosts resides in the Victoria Boys High School. Whispering, footsteps, eerie sensation spread out from the school even from December to March also, when school remains closed. The Dow Hill forest near the school is an unquestionably tragical place, huge numbers of peoples murdered in the forest.

12. National Library - Kolkata

The well known National library of kolkata located on Belvedere Road. It was the residence of former Lieutenant Governor of Bengal. National Library has always been reputed to haunted. Now, here is a really eerie secret. A mysterious room has been discovered in the 250-year-old building a room that no one knew about and no one can enter because it seems to have no opening of kind, not even trapdoors. According to the theories it can be a torture chamber by Hastings or one of the Lt Governors who succeeded him, a sealed tomb or a treasure room as British used to hide their treasures in blind chambers. There have been so many supernatural activities in the library that one would not even find a guard during night shift. It is also said that the footsteps of the Governor General’s wife can still be heard.

Beside this another story is that at the time of its construction, some of the workers met with an accident and died on spot. Two eye witnesses have seen that black images fading in front of them. Some fearful incidents have heard like student from England died in some unnatural accident while he was searching book for his thesis. Also heard about a story where Bengali student who did not complete his paper died come for complete his research many times.

13. D’Souza Chawl in Mahim - Mumbai

D’Souza Chawl is located near Canossa Primary School in Mahim, Mumbai. A Chawl is a building up to 4-5 floors and has a well from which the people used to fill in water and wash clothes. This chawl is said to be possessed by the spirit of a woman who once lived here. One day while filling water from the well in the chawl, the wall of the well collapsed and she fell inside and died. After this unpleasant incident, the locals, especially the residents of the Chawl believe that the lady is seen every night near the well. Many people have spotted the apparition of a lady, speculated to be the ghost of the unfortunate woman, in the vicinity of the well during the nights. This has been reported multiple times.

14. Dwarka Sector 9 Metro Station - Delhi

People have experienced the paranormal activities, during Day and Night as well outside the entrance to the metro station, people have been overcome by a barrage of inexplicable energy thrust upon them all of a sudden. The paranormal sight of a woman appearing out of nowhere in front of the commuters, and then disappearing with remarkable alacrity has done nothing to improve the situation. The fact that most of these experiences took place during the night has added to the speculation that the place is infested with spirits during the night.

This is the mysterious peepul tree in Dwarka Sector 9 and Andheria Mor. In night it becomes a sign of traumatic illusion for some people. Many young call center workers from Gurgaon return their places in cab at night. Some of them had terrible vision there. Some car drivers had often reported seeing a strange figure literally running with their car or suddenly getting slapped on the face by something (or someone!) they couldn’t see.

15. Fernhill Hotel - Ooty


Though Fernhill Hotel has now shut down, it came under the spotlight during the shooting of Bollywood movie, Raaz. Famous Choreographer Saroj Khan and her crew woke up one night and them hearing some noise of rearrangement of furniture on first floor. They decided to contact the reception to talk about this noise, but the phone was dead. They couldn’t sleep and take rest due to the constant noise of someone rearranging furniture on the first floor. The next morning, they complained at the reception only to have the receptionist escort them outside pointing upward to show there was no floor above. It is said that the hotel was once shut down due to incidents of haunting.
